Questionalble Reports

As most know www.stdcarriers.com consists entirely of statements made by members of the public, so it is possible for people to post stuff based on inaccurate information or flat out lie about someone. Some of these posts have already been removed because they were obviously false. On October 31st an Oregon man using I.P. address 76.115.156.91 listed John McCain as having genital warts claiming he knew from McCain having anal sex with everyone in the country. He even post dated the earliest know infection date to election day. In another case someone in Reston, Virginia using the I.P. address 72.94.138.121 listed Barack Obama. This person selected Genital Herpes from the drop down list and wrote Oral Herpes(a different disease) in the explanation section. This person claimed that the Oral Herpes explained his current speeches. I almost wish this were true, Herpes as a speech enhancer.

The purpose of this section is for people to comment on reports that they believe to be inaccurate. This could give a wrongfully listed person a chance to get the ball rolling on clearing thier name and finding the person responsible.

You now have another listing for Barack Obama, only this time he is listed as Barry Sotero and is listed as being a closet homosexual. This is a third party listing and is obviously a fake posted by someone trying to smear President Elect, Obama. I think you should only post those listings that are accompanied by verifyable medical documentation.

That posting does look suspicious. The description does seem to resemble Obama, but there could easily be another mulatto man in Chicago with a wife name Michelle.

Why can't I post here using my wordpress account???? #126 is a hoax aimed at Barack Obama.

#126 is supposed to be Barack Obama and it's a hoax.

Barry Sotero has been deleted. I would like to thank Greg Dorner for pointing out the fact that Sotero is the name of Barack's mother's second husband and that Barack used to go by Barry in school.

As I said in a comment at the news story area at kval this site is idiotic, immature, unimportant and potentially unnecessarily hurtful to people seeking vengence or trying to be vindictive. BUT the MOST IMPORTANT THING I came here for is to point out to you obviously ignorant people that Hepatitis C is NOT a sexually transmitted disease....... it is only transmitted blood to blood so WHY would it even be included here? There are couples that have been married 30-50 years and only one partner is Hep C positive. Also in this day and age why would any one of you be stupid enough to have unprotected sex with ANYONE! Have your potential partner show YOU the paperwork instead of having it sent to the apparently revengeful man that started this site. I forgot your name already, Sullivan I think is your last name and Yes, your partner should have told you but YES YOU SHOULD HAVE USED PROTECTION!! Get on with your life and be more careful in the future! Geez louise! You are reponsible for YOU! Doesn't anyone in this sue happy world accept responsibility for anything they do anymore??

Peace

and WHY are posts moderated? If you believe in your first amendment right to have this site then surely you believe in the first amendment rights of people to post at your site UNMODERATED. I perceive that as HYPOCRITICAL at the very least.

If you want to post false info you can try to hide all you want, best of luck to you (not), but whether you are found or not you are still responsible for what you say wherever you say it. My site only says that someone else said something. Someone putting false info on my site is no different that someone putting up posters on bulletin board around town. In both cases it is the person making the statement that is responsible, not the website or owner of the bulletin board.

PS Pam, I am disappointed that you disagree with me. As a believer in free speech I publish all posts that don't include excessive profanity, threats, advertising, or are irrelevant. This is to keep things like 20 identical comments being listed is a row, ads for other websites, or random stuff that nothing to do with the issue. I don't think any blog is effective if its flooded with ads and random stuff. Also Hepatitis C is sexually transmitted. As for the lawsuit thing. My site is not responsible for other people violating the terms of use and posting lies, that is the responsibility of the liar. It would be no different if someone went on www.myspace.com or countless other sites and posted false info.

this is a wonderful resource, can't wait to see it start getting used more!
a member of my own family was the victim of a STD from someone that was caught passing it around and received nothing more then a slap on the wrist from our liberal justice system.

This site is an invasion of privacy and i completely agree with what Pam has to say. You have no right to humiliate people the way you are and the only reason you are doing this is because you are spiteful about what happened to you. I saw your feature on CNN and I am appauled this site is still in operation. Are you planning on posting all 50% of sexually active males and 80% of sexually active females that currently have HPV on this site because the truth is if you are having sex protected or unprotected you probably have HPV and often times it doesnt even show up when you get tested...So why not put half of America on this site. And like Pam said Hepatitis C is usually transmitted by blood so maybe before you decide to humiliate anyone else you can get your facts straight...Although HPV is not curable within 2 years it normally goes into a nonspreadable phase. You are just using this site to make yourself feel powerful and in control. Get a life.

Whoever gets posted is not posted by me, but by the public. I have no plans on posting half of America, however if the public posts half of America then it's up to them.

As a person recently infected with genital herpes from a rape, I have a few issues with your website:

1. the "STD free" people should not be called "clean" people--c'mon, that's just senseless. The dichotomy of "clean" and "dirty" does not always apply and these words imply value standards which I hope your readers do not share. Also, people in my situation (victims of rape) were not being "dirty". People who get these diseases when a spouse or partner cheats or when someone they're dating doesn't tell them they have and STD are not "dirty".

2. The "STD free" people/"clean people" shouldn't exist because many people have STDs and do not know it. Even if they have gone to doctors and gotten all the necessary testing. Doctors often do not test for HPV, unless they see cervical changes or warts, which only account for a few of the many different strains of HPV. Not to mention few places test for herpes. I had to go to three different doctors to get the two main blood tests to determine my own status. There is a lot of misinformation within the medical community concerning herpes tests--some people say they're accurate, others say they're pointless. Meanwhile, you have people telling others they're "clean", when they could be just as riddled with the herpaderp as I am! As many people with half a brain in their heads know, herpes, in most cases is asymptomatic (but still contagious)and in other cases it can be so mild it's mistaken for another condition.

3. Basically, I think you should either rethink how you're going to do the "STD free" people/"Clean" people part of this website or take it down. I think it's helpful in fueling bad stereotypes and false senses of security.

Herpaderp,

You have a good point. That "clean" section is only designed to list people who have tested negative for one or more incurable STD's. All that a listing would say is that the person had a negative test result on a specific date for whatever disease(s) tested negative. There is already a site that does this called www.checktonight.com.

I also want to point out that my use of the word "clean" is not meant to imply that the person is "clean" in general just in terms of a blood test the same way you hear people refer to drug test results as "clean" or "dirty".

I'm sorry to hear about how you got herpes. Did they catch who did it? If so you should put him on the STD Carriers list to warn other people about him.

My husband was inaccurately targetd on a post and it is humiliating to us as aFAMILY. WHat if a potential client sees this site and decides not to take our business due to inaccuracies in the post. WHy have a doctor clear us, have a doctor prove that we have it before you post. Post should only be allowed by "intimate" members not just a scorned lover. This is just wrong and it has ruined my life....not my husband who the false post is about. No one will believe it is not true!!!!!

Even though I am in a position like most others with STD, I also feel like others, that it is an invasion of privacy to throw my ex-wife's name on here out of anger and bitterness. I am presently in a civil suit, filed against her. Until one is proven guilty in a court of law, I don't feel it is right to name her on here or anywhere else through the internet. Even after being found guilty in a court of law, I still think she could counter sue me for invasion of privacy laws, if I throw her name out to the public. I think your site is trying to do a noble thing in todays trying times, but beware of repercussions.99.99% of those infecting others do it because there is no price to pay.If you are assured that this person has done you wrong, than go after them in a court of law. The times are changing my friends.Stand up for what you believe in and fight back. But not by posting someones name on a public wall.

Shane Bryant and Lisa Brown are not STD carriers. I have known them for 6 years and am very close friends with them and know everything about them. The person who posted their names is a recent ex-girlfriend of Shane Bryant being hateful and childish! This is something you do not joke around with.
